ChatGPT apps gain the ability to search the internet with Bing
OpenAI has given its ChatGPT app for iOS the ability to search the web with Microsoft’s search engine Bing. Bing is the only option to make ChatGPT online in the apps.
‘Browse with Bing’ is only available to paying customers, says OpenAI. To activate the feature, users must first activate Browsing in the New Features section of the app, after which they can start using the feature when switching models.
The fact that OpenAI only offers Bing probably has to do with the fact that Microsoft is an important investor in OpenAI. Microsoft made several billion-dollar investments in the start-up, the most recent six months ago. Microsoft hopes to give Bing a better position in the search engine market with AI integrations.
