Chat service Slack has another malfunction in Europe – update
The instant messaging service Slack, which is used by many companies worldwide, is again dealing with connection problems on Thursday morning. The outage appears to be limited to Europe. On Wednesday, the chat service also had to deal with a malfunction.
Slack reports on its website and on Twitter that there will be connection problems again on Thursday in Europe. The company of the chat service says it is not yet able to provide further information and that it is working to solve the problems as soon as possible. The company has not said anything about the exact nature of the problems.
The outage started around 9 a.m. and Wednesday the chat service also struggled with connection problems for European users. Many companies now rely on Slack for their mutual chat communication. The company announced in May that it now has 8 million daily active users and 3 million paying customers.
Update, 10:52 AM: Slack notifies Twitter and on its own website that it sees ‘positive signs’; the company says users should be able to reconnect to their workplace by now. Slack employees are still trying to find the cause of Thursday and Wednesday’s outage.
