Chat service Slack faces global outage
Chat service Slack is dealing with a worldwide outage. In their own words, the malfunction affects ‘all workspaces’. Due to the problems, users are unable to connect to the service, making communication impossible.
Slack reports on its site and on Twitter that there are problems with ‘connections’. The outage started around 3:30 PM. In his last update let the company know that it is working to determine the cause of the problems. It reports that it wants to be back online as soon as possible, but does not provide an estimate.
According to the service’s outage history, the last outage occurred towards the end of May. A malfunction in March was caused by Amazon’s AWS service. It reports no problems now. Figures released by the company in September of last year indicate that the chat service has approximately six million daily active users. It is unclear whether all users are affected by the outage.
