Chat service Signal suffers from malfunction – update
Chat service Signal suffered a malfunction on Monday morning. As a result, users were no longer able to send messages or have conversations with each other. The team behind the message service confirmed the disruption and was able to largely resolve the problems a few hours after the disruption.
Signal reports on his Twitter page that it concerns a hosting issue, but does not provide further details at the time of writing. Users wrote on social media that the problems started since 5am this morning and reports on Downdetector confirmed that.
About two hours after the announcement of the outage, most problems appear to have been resolved. “The messaging service is online for 99 percent of users. We are still working on that last percent,” it sounds on Twitter.
