Chat app Telegram releases update with Ifttt integration

Chatapp Telegram has presented a new update in which it integrates its service with If This Then That. This allows users to link more than 360 services to Telegram, including Gmail, Instagram and Philips Hue.

For example, users can change the color of their Hue lamps by sending a message to the @ifttt chatbot in Telegram, the developers write. Users can also receive a Telegram message when they receive important mail, automatically share photos from Instagram or share tracks on Spotify.

The Ifttt integration is in an update of Telegram for various platforms. For Android users, the update also brings the ability to rotate photos before posting and watch YouTube videos with picture-in-picture. This allows users to continue chatting while watching a video.

In addition, it is now possible to pin chats at the top of the screen so that they are always visible, even if there are no new messages. The new functions are in Telegram 3.15, which recently appeared in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
