The chat application Slack has turned on the calling function for all teams. As a result, users can now call each other with voice calls. A bell will automatically ring on the smartphone if the user has Slack on it.

Group admins can turn on the calling feature in their group’s Settings. With groups that use the free version, only individual users can call each other, with the paid version it is possible to set up a group conversation with all people in the group.

The feature works on the desktop with the phone icon next to the settings gear at the top of the screen. In the mobile apps, the function is located under the menu that appears when tapping the name of a person or the Channel at the top of the screen.

The chat app also wants to add video calling in the future. Slack is primarily aimed at groups of people working together in businesses and organizations, and has approximately three million active users per month.
