The Chaos Computer Club does not traditionally hold its CCC in Germany in December this year. Instead, the organization wants to host various local virtual events in hackerspaces.

The Chaos Computer Club has canceled the annual Chaos Communication Congress in Leipzig at the end of December due to the corona crisis. According to the organization, holding a physical event with thousands of participants is irresponsible and also not allowed in Germany. Instead, there will be a Remote Chaos Experience.

Under this heading, small local events in hackerspaces worldwide should take place at the end of this year, with a joint program of presentations, workshops, art and culture. In this way, the organization hopes to be able to physically bring hackers together in a responsible manner and utilize the benefits of online.

The organization calls on interested parties to contribute ideas for what such an online event could look like. The Computer Chaos Club also asks who wants to participate and from what location. The Remote Chaos Experience takes place from 27 to 30 December.
