The CES organization presents an innovation prize for a Samsung Odyssey G8QNB monitor with QD OLED panel. Samsung has not yet officially announced this monitor. Earlier, another unannounced Samsung TV with QD OLEDs appeared online.

The Samsung Odyssey G8QNB has a curved 34″ screen based on QD OLEDs. The curvature is 1800R and the thickness is 6mm. The monitor has a maximum refresh rate of 175Hz and a response time of 0.1ms. The resolution is 3440×1440 pixels. Like other Odyssey screens, the manufacturer focuses on gamers with the monitor.

The appearance of the CES page is another indication that Samsung was planning to announce QD OLED products during the show, but for unknown reasons canceled it. A similar page already appeared on Tuesday regarding a 65″ TV with QD OLED panel. Samsung then confirmed that there would be no announcement of this product.

According to Korean media, Samsung Display has meanwhile confirmed that it will release TVs in 55″ and 65″ screen sizes and a monitor with QD OLEDs in the first half of this year. The fact that an official announcement has not yet been made may indicate that production has been delayed. Sony and Alienware have already announced products with QD OLED panels. Alienware also reported that the 34-inch monitor will be available from April.

With QD-OLED, Samsung wants to compete with LG’s OLED. QD OLED screens have blue OLED pixels with quantum dots, with red and green color filters for sub-pixels in those colors.
