CEO: Samsung wants to use BlackBerry technology in its devices

Samsung contradicts reports that the company wants to acquire competitor BlackBerry. Instead, the Koreans are talking to the Canadians about collaborating on developed technologies.

Samsung announced this in a statement to The Wall Street Journal on Monday. In the statement, JK Shin, responsible for the telephone branch of the company, says that, contrary to previous reports, the electronics giant has no intention of taking over BlackBerry. “We want to work with BlackBerry and enter into a partnership,” he says, among other things.

Samsung says it is already in talks with BlackBerry. In particular, the two companies are in talks to use BlackBerry technology in Samsung devices. However, they do not specify which technology is involved. Nor do they let go of the possible conditions of both companies.

Last week it came out that Samsung would have serious plans to acquire the Canadian smartphone maker. There would already be an offer of almost 6.4 billion euros on the table. Samsung later said the message is “unfounded.”
