CEO and face of Nintendo leaves after fifteen years
Nintendo will say goodbye to Reggie Fils-Aime, director of Nintendo America and presenter during press conferences of the Japanese console maker in April. Marketing director Doug Bowser succeeds him.
Fils-Aime worked for Nintendo for 15 years, 13 of which as a director, Nintendo says. He became known as the face of the Japanese company at press conferences for the announcement of new consoles and games.
His successor will be Doug Bowser, the marketing director Nintendo hired three years ago. Bowser, not related to the character from the Super Mario games, will start as director of the American branch of Nintendo from mid-April. Fils-Aime is known, among other things, for the internet meme ‘my body is ready’, a phrase he uttered during the presentation of the Wii Balanceboard.
