CD Projekt Red wants to start the production phase of the next The Witcher game this year. The game developer wants to employ approximately 400 people on the project by 2024. CD Projekt Red is also exploring whether it can use artificial intelligence in game development.

Reuters editorial staff writes that the fourth part of the game franchise has been given the code name Polaris. It is not yet clear when the game will be released, but Reuters states that analysts expect this to be the case in 2026 or 2027.

CD Projekt Red reportedly also said a little more about the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. The sequel to this game is still in the conceptual phase and was internally codenamed ‘Orion’. CD Projekt Red expects that around eighty people will be working on the game by the end of this year. The Polish game developer is also said to be considering adding multiplayer game elements to the game. It is not clear which elements exactly are involved.

Finally, the developer mentions that it has created a division that will explore how artificial intelligence can be used during game development. CEO Adam Badowski says that AI can ‘improve’ some development processes, but that it will not replace humans. In October 2023, CD Projekt Red announced that it had used AI to recreate the voice of a deceased actor.
