CD Projekt Red has shown gameplay footage from console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time. The developer shows the game on the Xbox One X and Xbox Series X. The game will only receive a next-gen update next year.

The YouTube video with the Cyberpunk 2077 console images has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a frame rate of 30fps. There is no direct comparison between the display on the Xbox One X and the Series X in the video; images from both consoles are alternated.

CD Projekt Red has not yet announced in which resolution and at which frame rate the game will run on consoles. Presumably, the game will run at least on the Xbox Series X in a 4k resolution. The frame rate could be limited to 30fps, because the version that will be released on December 10 is developed for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The console version also does not contain ray tracing. The PC version does have that on release. Ray tracing may be added to Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5 versions at a later date.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on December 10th. The game will then be released for the PC, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on Google Stadia. The console versions can also be played on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S and will probably run smoother and with higher resolutions on the new consoles. Later, the game will receive a major free upgrade for the next-gen consoles, which should make the most of the new hardware. It is not yet known when the update will be released, but it will not be until next year.
