CD Projekt Red Partners With Digital Scapes For Cyberpunk 2077
Polish game developer CD Projekt Red, best known for The Witcher, has announced a partnership with Canadian studio Digital Scapes. The collaboration is focused on the creation of the Cyberpunk 2077 game, which has no release date yet.
In the announcement, the studio speaks of a ‘long-term strategic partnership’ with Digital Scapes. Specific details are lacking, but the message does state that the companies will work together to “create and optimize technical solutions for use in the development of Cyberpunk 2077.” Digital Scapes would have been brought on board because of the experience and technical knowledge present.
The Canadian studio was opened in 2013 by Polish developer Techland. The companies worked together on the game Dying Light. On its site, Digital Scapes lists other titles it has collaborated on, such as Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40k, and Prototype. Five years ago Marcin Chady took charge of the studio after working for Radical Entertainment.
In August, CD Projekt Red released the first gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077, which the studio says will be a cross between an FPS and an RPG. The game is slated to come out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but there’s no official release date yet.
