CD Projekt Red opens third studio for Cyberpunk 2077 development
Polish developer CD Projekt Red, known for The Witcher games, has opened a third studio. The new department in Wroc afdelingaw will collaborate with the studios in Warsaw and Krakow and will support the development of Cyberpunk 2077.
From the wording of the announcement it can be concluded that the new CD Projekt Red studio is being built around the team of Strange New Things. That is a studio that consists of eighteen veterans of the game industry. They worked on games such as Dying Light, Hitman (2016) and the Call of Juarez series. The studio seems to be merging into the new division of CD Projekt Red. The company is still looking for new employees.
CD Projekt Red’s new division will also be working on Cyberpunk 2077, which is the studio’s next big RPG that has been in the works for years. That game was announced back in 2012, but no release date has been announced yet.
