CD Projekt RED has another RPG in development next to Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt RED is not only working on Cyberpunk 2077, but aims to do another major release sometime between now and 2021. This is an RPG with a storyline, but the Polish studio has not yet announced more details.
Other than that it is an RPG, nothing is known about the game in development. CD Projekt RED announced last year that there will be no The Witcher 4, but VG24/7 speculates that it could be an RPG in that game’s universe.
CD Projekt RED confirmed in a document about its activities in 2017 addressed to the board, that it is working on a major title alongside Cyberpunk 2077. In 2015, the studio also hinted at developing a game alongside Cyberpunk 2077.
The announcement is striking, because there are rumors that the development of Cyberpunk 2077 is not running smoothly. That game was announced in 2012, but no release date has yet been announced. Last week it was announced that CD Projekt RED is adding a third studio to the development of that sci-fi RPG.
At the same time, the studio announces that the total sales of The Witcher games exceed 33 million. Including expansions, The Witcher 3 sold 15 times as much as Part 2, and half of Part 3’s sales were for the PC version.
