CD Projekt Red Announces Phantom Liberty Expansion For Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt Red shows a first teaser of a new expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. The expansion is called Phantom Liberty and should be released next year. In addition, the studio will release a new trailer for the Cyberpunk 2077 series that will be released next week.
CD Projekt Red is not releasing much about Phantom Liberty yet. We have to make do with a teaser of just under a minute and a short appearance by Keanu Reeves. He confirms during the livestream that his character Johnny Silverhand also appears in the new storyline. The expansion will once again revolve around the main character V.
The expansion will be released sometime in 2023. It is striking that in the teaser only PC, Stadia, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are mentioned as platforms on which Phantom Liberty appears. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are not mentioned. This may have to do with the game’s performance on the previous generation of consoles, which left quite a bit to be desired.
However, all platforms will still receive update 1.6, which will be released today. The so-called Edgerunner Update will be available for free from September 6. The update improves the game on a number of points and adds new content. The update coincides with the release of the Netflix series of the same name. The series can be viewed via the streaming service from September 13.
