Casemud builds huge Thermaltake Fast&Furious case
Thermaltake has a rather striking housing in its booth on Computex. For a moment we thought that the Taiwanese company had built a monster case itself, but it turned out to be the case mod of a Thai case mud.
This Suchao Prowphong has its case mod inspired by the film series The Fast & The Furious, in which racing with fast cars is central. The Core X 2 Furious Tower Mod also has touches from the racing world, such as a huge spoiler on top, large air intakes and a Mustang logo. We have placed Jelle next to the housing to give an indication of how huge this double housing is.
The case mod owes those dimensions to the use of not one, but two Core X9 cases from Thermaltake. These are not small housings in themselves, judging by the space for eatx motherboards with four fans underneath, but with two stacked on top of each other you get a mammoth housing. Thermaltake purposely made the X9 capable of that, and modders are taking advantage of that.
The Core X 2 Furious Tower Mod features custom plexiglass exterior cladding that has been glued together, and extensive internal water cooling keeps the two systems cool, each in its own Core X9 compartment.
