Capcom ‘mini console’ with 16 old arcade games will cost 230 euros
Capcom is also coming with a mini console, following companies such as Nintendo, Sony and Sega. The hardware is shaped like a Capcom logo and consists of two sticks with buttons next to them. There are sixteen CPS1 and CPS2 games on it.
The Capcom Home Arcade is made by Koch Media. That company previously came up with THE64 Mini, a ‘mini console’ inspired by the Commodore 64. The Capcom variant is available from October 25 and has a suggested retail price of 230 euros. There is already a listing of the device on the British Amazon site.
The Capcom Home Arcade features games originally created for the first and second generations of the Capcom Play System. That was an arcade cabinet system. The CPS1 system dates back to 1988. There are sixteen games on the device, including Mega Man and Street Fighter II. It would be the original roms and emulation with open source emulator FB Alpha.
The hardware consists of Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT sticks with buttons. Sanwa also supplies such sticks for arcade hardware and according to the makers they are very accurate. Two players can compete against each other or play in co-op. The console will get WiFi so players can share high scores online.
