Capcom has made available next-gen updates for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 with immediate effect. On the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X, the games can be played with a 4k resolution and ‘high frame rates’. The PC versions will also be updated.

Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 biohazard will be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in addition to 4k resolution and high frame rates, as well as support for ray tracing and 3D audio playback. On the Xbox Series S, the games will also get these features, except for probably the support for 4k resolution. On the PS5, the game will get DualSense support

It is unclear what exactly Capcom means by ‘high frame rates’. The games were already playable at 60fps on the latest consoles. It may be 60fps at 4k resolution and 120fps at 1080p, but details about this are not provided by the publisher. Players who already own the games can get the updates for free. Save games are transferred after the updates have been made.
