Canon introduces EOS 7D Mark II DSLR and two PowerShot cameras

Canon has announced the EOS 7D Mark II, a new DSLR whose body will cost $1800, approximately $1400. The camera manufacturer also announced two compact cameras: the Powershot G7X and Powershot N2. Both cameras are focused on taking selfies.

Most of the specifications of the Canon EOS 7D Mark II had already been leaked in the run-up to the Photokina. The camera will have a 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 65-point autofocus system. The new dslr from Canon, which is to follow the successful EOS 7D, also contains two Digic 6 image processors and ITR EOS autofocus. The light sensitivity is specified at a maximum of ISO 16,000.

According to Canon, the magnesium body of the dslr is dustproof and ‘weatherproof’. A GPS module is also integrated, but Wi-Fi is only available via an optional module. The Canon EOS 7D Mark II can shoot video at up to 1080p resolutions at up to 60 frames per second and have a burst rate of 10 frames per second when shooting stills. In silent mode, where the shutter is almost inaudible, 4 frames per second can be shot.

Canon has provided the camera with a USB 3.0 connection, as well as a microphone input and a headphone output. The camera has a suggested retail price of $1800, or $1400, for the body. A kit with an 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens should cost $ 2149, converted 1660 euros.

In addition to the 7D Mark II, Canon has also announced the Powershot G7X. This point-and-shoot camera features a 1″ 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 24-100mm f/1.8-2.8 lens with a 4.2x optical zoom. The N2 offers a 28-224mm f/3.0-5.9 lens with 8x optical zoom. The LCD screen can also be folded forward with this camera. Furthermore, this device also contains WiFi and NFC. The N2 should be on the market in December and costs 300 dollars, or about 230 euros.
