Canon EOS M10 and PowerShot G5 X appear in Canon webshop
In the Canon USA web store, product pages of the EOS M10 mirrorless camera and PowerShot G5 X compact camera have appeared. Almost all details about the new devices are now known.
Last week photos and specifications of three new Canon cameras appeared online, now the EOS M10 and the PowerShot G5 X have appeared on an official Canon website. The description of the system camera shows that Canon provides the EOS M10 with an 18-megapixel sensor with Hybrid CMOS AF II technology. This indicates that the device will receive the same sensor as the EOS M2, which only appeared in Japan.
There are few buttons on the housing; the operation of the camera will largely take place via the touchscreen. This 3″ screen has 1.04 million dots and can be tilted up 180 degrees. Canon will supply the camera with a new 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens, which also has a product page.
In addition to the EOS M10, Canon will introduce the PowerShot G5 X. This compact camera has a 1″ large 20.2-megapixel sensor with 24-100mm equivalent f/1.8-2.8 lens and can also be seen in the Canon USA webshop The description shows that the device will have an electronic viewfinder with 2.36 million pixels, of which the image can be refreshed with 120 fps.
In the webshop you can see that the PowerShot G5 X will cost just under 800 dollars. Converted including VAT, that is about 850 euros. The Canon EOS M10, which will be available in black, white and gray, is listed on the website for $600 in combination with the new 15-45mm. The new kit lens is sold separately for 300 dollars. Because Canon has put the details on its own site, it is obvious that the official introduction of the cameras will not be long in coming.
