Cannondale Introduces E-Bike with Garmin Radar System
Cannondale has announced its new Mavaro Neo series of electric city bikes. The manufacturer supplies the Mavaro Neo 1 with a radar from Garmin, which can warn of traffic coming from behind.
The updated Mavaro Neo line of e-bikes consists of six models, the Mavaro Neo 1 to 5 and the 5+. Cannondale only supplies the top model of the range, the Neo 1, standard with the radar. Garmin’s radar offers a range of up to 140 meters. The radar can provide visual and audible warnings if traffic is approaching from behind. Among other things, this can be displayed on the screen. The radar is also available separately as Varia RTL510, in combination with a rear light, for a suggested retail price of 170 euros.
The Mavaro Neo 1 includes a NuVinci Optimized gear system from Enviolo for automated stepless shifting. After a stop, for example, this system automatically switches to a lower gear, so that the cyclist can get going again more easily.
All e-bikes in the renewed Mavaro Neo line have a Bosch Performance Line CX motor. With the exception of the Neo 5, they have a battery with a capacity of 625Wh, which would be charged in less than five hours and would offer a range of up to 120 kilometers. The Mavaro Neo 5 has a lower battery capacity with 500Wh.
