Canadian carrier: Android 7.0 Nougat will be released on Monday
Android 7.0 Nougat will be released on Monday, August 22. At least that is apparent from a table from the Canadian provider Telus. That provider put the correct date on its own forum some time before the release of Android 6.0 last year.
According to a table of updates on the Telus site, Android 7.0 for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will be released on August 22. That’s in line with previous rumors about the release of Google’s new mobile operating system, which talked about a release in August.
The same Canadian provider put the release of Android 6.0 on October 5 last year in the same table, a date that later turned out to be correct. The update release date is often not the same as when Google announces new Nexus phones. For example, Google presented the 5X and 6P last year a week before the release of the new operating system.
Google has been releasing a preview version of Android 7.0 every month since March. The update includes a split screen mode and notifications look different. When Android Nougat as an update to other devices than the Nexuses, is still unknown. Google seems to be updating the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, General Mobile 4G Android One and the Pixel C tablet.
