Call of Duty: Warzone replaces Verdansk map with ’84 version

Infinity Ward, Treyarch and Raven Software have replaced the map destroyed this week, Verdansk, with Verdansk ’84. The new map is basically the same, but contains a lot of changes compared to the old one and is set in 1984.

The new map marks the start of Season Three for Call of Duty: Warzone. Earlier this week, Verdansk was wiped off the map by a nuclear attack. In the meantime, the city has returned to the game, but it has made a jump back in time, to the year 1984. Some locations return, such as the stadium and the airport, but with the necessary changes and an eighties look.

The developers list the twenty biggest changes of Verdansk ’84. For example, new is the Grid Radar Array, a high scaffolding that gives players an overview of the city. There is also a salt mine and the large location Gora Summit has been added, a complex with gondolas and helipads.

Season three will also bring new weapons such as the PPSh-41 SMG and Swiss K31, while existing weapons have been modified such as the FFAR1, M16, Tactical Rifle Charlie and Sykov. Finally, DLSS support has been added to the PC version of the game, as revealed earlier this week.
