Call of Duty: Warzone gets fourth season and 120Hz support on PS5
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone will receive an update on Thursday with the arrival of the fourth season. For Call of Duty: Warzone, this means the introduction of 120Hz support on the PlayStation 5.
The patch notes for the fourth season of Warzone mention the addition of 120Hz support for the PlayStation 5, also underlining the need for HDMI 2.1 support. The Xbox Series X had support for 120Hz for quite some time.
According to CharlieIntel’s Twitter account players without a display with HDMI 2.1 can also enjoy 120 frames per second; that is then accompanied by a resolution of 1080p, so that it still falls within the HDMI 2.0 bandwidth. The resolution should be set to 1080p. Players with an HDMI 2.1 screen can combine 120Hz and a 4k resolution.
The patch notes also describe the Ground Fall event, a temporary event where a satellite crashes into the city and Verdanks playing field. Players can capture Sat-Link stations to determine the location of the falling satellite. That can eventually bring loot and cash rewards. There will also be new vehicles, weapons, Operators, a new battle pass and there are some shifts in a number of game modes.
