Business newspaper: Apple will come with 5 “iPhone next year
Apple will release an iPhone with a 5″ screen next year, in addition to the existing sizes of 4.7″ and 5.5″. .
Currently, iPhones have screen sizes of 4″, 4.7″ and 5.5″, but with next year’s new lineup, the 4.7″ variant would be the one with the smallest screen, Nikkei reports. The business newspaper says it has only an anonymous source. Nikkei is known as a reliable source, but in the past has been a bit of a mess with rumors. Moreover, the business newspaper covers itself by stating that the plans could still change. For example, iPhone 7 Plus models without a dual camera would have been in production until half a year before release.
All three models would have a glass back, something that would allow wireless charging. That glass would not come from Foxconn, but from Chinese suppliers who would have better technology.
There have been rumors for months about the successors of the iPhone 7. For example, the iPhones would get an OLED screen next year, as the Apple Watch already has. Many competing models, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7, OnePlus 3 and Google Pixel, also have an OLED screen.
Next year will be ten years since the first iPhone came on the market, and Apple would like to use the anniversary to make major changes to its smartphone. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus came out last month.
