Bungie puts teaser for Destiny 2 online
Game developer Bungie and publisher Activision have officially announced the arrival of Destiny 2 on Twitter by displaying the game’s logo. An official release date has not been announced and other details are still missing.
The logo shown in the announcement on Twitter is can also be found in photos of Destiny 2 posters, one of which has appeared on an Italian website. These posters do show the release date, which is September 8. This release date has not been confirmed in the teaser. In February, Activision did say that Destiny will be released in the fall.
The posters also made it clear that there will be a beta which, given the PlayStation logo on the poster and the fact that the poster appears to be intended to announce a beta, will probably only be open to PS4 users. According to Eurogamer, that beta will take place in June.
In the background of the logo is The Last City, the metropolis saved by the Traveler in the original Destiny game. The location of the Tower can also be seen. Both the city and the Tower are on fire in the picture.
There is speculation that Destiny 2, unlike its predecessor, will also be released for PC. For example, the German game store Instant Gaming has already started taking pre-orders for the PC. In addition, a German game streamer has confirmed on Twitter that he has successfully pre-ordered on the GameStop website has Posted for the PC version of Destiny 2. Whether Destiny 2 will actually be released for PC has not yet been confirmed by Bungie or Activision.
It was already known that Activision wants to release Destiny 2 this year, but the publisher has not yet officially given a release date. When the game comes out on September 8, that will be just under three years after the release of Destiny. That game came out on September 9, 2014. The first part appeared for the Xbox One and PS4 and the predecessors of those consoles.
