Bungie Locks Parts of Destiny 2 on Owners Who Don’t Buy DLC

Bungie has locked certain gameplay elements from Destiny 2 to owners of the game who do not purchase the new Curse of Osiris DLC. Until recently, certain parts were accessible with only a copy of Destiny 2.

The Curse of Osiris DLC released on Tuesday increases the maximum of character levels and various power levels. For example, players now need to have a power level of 330 to access Prestige Nightfall, while before the arrival of the DLC, this required a level of 300. Players without the DLC cannot reach a power level higher than 305, so they are excluded from this part of the game.

As a result, if players are unable to complete the Leviathan raid or Nightfall strike on the Prestige difficulty, it means that they will not be able to get the so-called The Prestige reward. Other parts of the game have similarly become inaccessible to Destiny 2 owners, a user reported on Reddit. Kotaku has asked Bungie to respond to criticisms of these changes being made by the DLC, but the developer has yet to respond.

In Curse of Osiris, the player continues the story of his Guardian with new missions set on Mercury. Also, more will be known about Osiris and the ‘mysterious Infinite Forest’ can be discovered. In addition to new missions, the expansion also includes new weapons, armor, co-op modes and multiplayer arenas. Bungie announced the DLC in late October. The DLC also adds support for 4K and HDR.
