Bungie is working on an MMO FPS called Destiny

Bungie’s next game will be an MMO first-person shooter, a disgruntled former Bungie employee has claimed, according to Kotaku. Currently, the game is said to be called Destiny, with Tiger being the code name for the project.

According to the former employee, the alleged project runs on a new engine developed by Bungie and uses new online and matchmaking technology. The term ‘World of Warcraft in space’ fell also according to Kotaku. Bungie hinted already on an mmo project at the 2010 Game Developers Conference Online.

Bungie reports on his own site that these messages are not true. “Activision Blizzard has never asked us to fire or hire any employees. These rumors are inconsistent with our corporate culture and values.”

Bungie signed a ten-year contract with Activision Blizzard in April 2010. The development studio has been famous in recent years thanks to its Halo trilogy for Microsoft Game Studios. Halo Reach was Bungie’s last Halo game.
