Bungie announces 'Frontiers' content for Destiny 2 in 2025
Bungie has announced that Destiny 2 will be provided with new content next year. The studio teases the arrival of the content in an update on the future of the game. The new content is codenamed 'Frontiers'.
It is not yet known what exactly Frontiers entails. In The Journey Ahead stream only the working title of the new content is visible, together with the Destiny 2 logo. The image then shows the text 'the journey continues' with the year 2025.
In the same stream, Bungie announces that Destiny 2 will receive new seasons until the arrival of Frontiers. These seasons are called episodes this time, three of which will be released this year: Echo, Revenant and Heresy. The first episode takes place on Nessus and focuses on the Vex. The Revenant episode introduces a Potion Crafting system and revolves around the Fallen. Heresy brings players back to the Dreadnought from The Taken King expansion.
The Destiny franchise will be 11 years old in 2025. The original game was released in 2014, followed by Destiny 2 in 2017. Since then, the game has been regularly provided with new content updates. Rumors have been going around about the arrival of Destiny 3 for some time, but it seems that Bungie has chosen to keep the second part alive for at least one more year.
