Bruna introduces unlimited reading app
Book and magazine store Bruna has introduced a service that allows users to read unlimited books and magazines. Readers have to pay ten to fifteen euros per month for this.
The service called Bliyoo, which was announced earlier this year, was launched Wednesday morning for Android and iOS. Bruna is still investigating whether the app can be made available for some e-readers, RTL reports. Users can choose from three subscriptions: a subscription where unlimited books can be read for 10 euros per month, an equally expensive subscription where magazines can be read unlimited and a subscription of 15 euros per month that allows unlimited reading of both books and magazines.
Readers must download magazines and books before they can read them. They can have up to three magazines and three books on their device at the same time. Magazines such as Power Unlimited, PCM and the New Scientist can be found in the app, but magazines such as Donald Duck and Linda are missing. Many foreign books are also missing, according to Bruna because it is difficult to arrange rights for them.
It is unclear exactly how many magazines and books can be found on Bliyoo. According to RTL, Bliyoo hopes to have 10,000 books and magazines in Bliyoo within a month, while in the end there should be 20,000. However, it is unclear how much can be found in the app now. Moreover, users cannot read everything with an all you can eat subscription: users still have to pay separately for books and magazines without the Bliyoo logo in the app.
Bruna hopes to have tied 125,000 paying customers to the Bliyoo app by the end of this year. By the way, Bruna already had an app that could be used to buy e-books and magazines, Tablisto, but that app is integrated into Bliyoo.
