British publisher acquires rights to Rambo games
British publisher Reef Entertainment has acquired the rights to make games based on the Rambo films. The first Rambo game should make its appearance next year on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Website MCV reports that StudioCanal has sold the rights to make games based on the Rambo films to British publisher Reef Entertainment. Reef thinks the time is right for a Rambo game with the success of the fourth Rambo film and action films like The Expendables, which also starred Sylvester Stallone.
Reef aims high with the Rambo license. According to director Craig Lewis, the first game should be a ‘triple A’ title that comes out next year on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC. It has not been announced which developer Reef will hire for the game. The last game Reef released was Sniper Elite for the Wii, which was developed by Rebellion Developments.
