Brave Software is laying off 9 percent of its staff
Brave Software confirms that roughly nine percent of its workforce is being laid off. The maker of the Brave Browser and Brave Search says this is happening because of “cost management in a challenging economic climate.”
According to LinkedIn the company currently has 228 employees, which would mean that roughly 21 people would be laid off. Brave confirms the layoffs opposite TechCrunchbut does not detail whether specific departments have been hit harder than others, for example.
Brave has grown very quickly in recent years. For example, in January 2022, the privacy-focused browser had over 50 million active users. That was roughly half just over a year earlier. The company, meanwhile, also offers other services, including a search engine and various subscriptions for its services.
