Following Sonos and Somfy, among others, Bose has now also added support for the Google Assistant to some of its smart speakers and soundbars. Bose also announced the Home Speaker 300.

Owners of a Bose Home Speaker 500, Soundbar 700 and Soundbar 500 can now use the Google Assistant in addition to the standard Amazon Alexa voice assistant. With the latest version of the Bose Music app, they can choose their preferred assistant. When using the smart speaker for the first time, they can immediately choose which personal assistant they want to use.

In the summer, Bose will release the compact Home Speaker 300 and smart speakers that the company releases afterwards will also receive Google Assistant support. The fifteen centimeters high Home Speaker 300 does not have an LCD like the 500, but does support AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth. The announcement comes the same day Somfy announced Google Assistant support and a week after Sonos did.
