According to Bookeen, the Diva and Diva HD are the first e-readers to support lcp. This new open source drm, developed by the Readium Foundation and EDRLab, should, among other things, make it easier for users to transfer their books from one medium to another. Incidentally, the new e-readers will remain compatible with Adobe DRM ‘for a gradual transition from the market to lcp’.
Both Bookeen Divas are powered by an NXP i.MX6 processor, which is flanked by 512MB of RAM and 16GB of flash memory. The devices also have WiFi. The entry-level model has a battery of 1200mAh, the HD version has a capacity of 1900mAh.
The suggested retail prices are 109.90 euros for the Bookeen Diva and 139.90 euros for the Diva HD model. A magnetic Diva protective cover, available in eight colors, costs 24.90 euros.
