BMW makes replica of hoverbike based on Lego Technic model
BMW has created a life-size replica of a hoverbike previously released as a Lego Technic model. The Hover Ride Design Concept, which can’t really float, can be found at Lego World in the Danish capital Copenhagen.
At the beginning of this year, Lego released a Lego Technic building kit of the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure together with BMW. The engine can be made with the 603 building blocks from that box, but there is also an alternative model that looks like a futuristic hoverbike.
BMW has made a full-size replica of that hoverbike. The replica contains parts that are also used for the production of the actual engine. In addition, there are several parts that were created just for the project.
In the press photos that BMW has made, the concept actually seems to float. In reality, that is not the case. The concept is currently on display at Lego World in Copenhagen and will be shown in other locations thereafter, including BMW Welt.
