Bloomberg: New iPhones will get always-on display this year jaar
The iPhones that come out in 2021 may get an always-on display. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reports this based on his own sources. The phones would also get a smaller notch in the screen.
Bloomberg writes that the upcoming iPhones will get a new screen, which should enable an “Apple Watch-like always-on mode”. That is what the medium does in the Power On newsletter of journalist Mark Gurman, writes 9To5Mac. Gurman is more likely to share information about unannounced Apple products and is known for his good resources within that company.
The new screen should also lead to a longer battery life and Gurman also writes that users can expect a 120Hz screen. Rumors have been circulating for some time that Apple will provide its iPhone 13 Pro devices with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The journalist also reports that the upcoming iPhones will have a faster A15-soc, as was already expected. Gurman doesn’t share any details about that chip. Bloomberg also talks about a larger battery and a smaller notch in the screen, in which the front camera is placed. Reports have also been circulating about this for some time, including from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Furthermore, according to Bloomberg, Apple would introduce a new MacBook Pro in the fall, writes 9To5Mac. That would happen between September and November at the latest. Production of these laptops is expected to begin in the third quarter. The new Macbook Pro would have a mini LED screen, just like the recent iPad Pro 12.9 “, which Apple released earlier this year.
