Bloomberg writes that Intel will open new business divisions in France, Italy and Germany. The news agency learned this from sources close to the negotiations. Intel emphasizes in a response that no decision has been made yet.

The American chip designer will build a chip factory in Germany, according to Bloomberg sources, who wish to remain anonymous, while France will have a research and design department and a testing and assembly division will be built in Italy.

In Italy, according to Bloomberg sources, Sicily is being considered as a potential region for the new business units. For the departments in France, they are said to be thinking of the vicinity of Paris or Grenoble. The Intel factory in Germany will be built in the East German state of Saxony, according to sources. The costs of these European departments will amount to several tens of billions of euros, according to Bloomberg.

Intel’s top management is said to be in talks with the local governments involved. In a response to The Irish Times, he said that no decision had yet been made on future investments.
