Blizzard to start closed beta of Diablo IV soon
Blizzard is set to launch a closed beta for Diablo IV in the coming weeks. The test will be available to players on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. The beta also includes crossplay support.
The closed beta includes end-game content from Diablo IV, including special events that the player encounters while exploring the world and dungeons. Blizzard chooses to show this content in advance, so that not too many details from the story are announced yet. In addition, the developer claims that many players enjoy the endgame content the most. “For many, the endgame is their favorite aspect of Diablo. We want to make sure it feels satisfying,” writes Blizzard.
The studio is not yet sharing exactly when the closed beta will start. Blizzard does report that the beta will be available to players who have “recently spent a significant amount of time on the endgame content of Diablo II: Resurrected and Diablo III.” Those interested can sign up by subscribing to Blizzard’s newsletter before October 11. This can be done through the privacy settings of the Battle.net launcher. According to the developer, there will be a public beta after the closed beta, which will be available in early 2023.
Blizzard emphasizes that testers are not allowed to share details about the closed beta. It is likely that the developer is referring to two Diablo IV gameplay videos that have recently appeared online. The game is set to be released by June 2023 at the latest.
