Blizzard is suing Bossland for releasing and selling the “Watchover Tyrant” cheat, which, among other things, makes it possible to see the location and health status of other players in the game Overwatch, even if they are hidden or otherwise invisible.

Blizzard is suing California Bossland for copyright infringement, unfair competition and violation of the DMCA anti-deception or anti-circumvention provision.

Bossland makes more cheats, also for other Blizzard games like World of Warcraft, Diablo 3 and Heroes of the Storm. These games are also mentioned in the indictment. At WoW on Honorbuddy, Demonbuddy on Diablo 3, Stormbuddy on Heroes of the Storm and Hearthbuddy for Hearthstone.

Blizzard also states that the various cheats and bots may have already generated “millions in revenue” for the German company. In addition, according to the American entertainment company, bots and cheats provide a lesser gaming experience for players who do not use them.

Torrentfreak spoke with Bossland CEO Zwetan Letschew. His company has not yet received any charges. Letschew is surprised that Blizzard is now trying it in the US for the first time. Bossland already has several lawsuits hanging in his pants in conflicts with Blizzard in Germany.
