Blizzard launches Diablo Immortal for Android and iOS
Blizzard comes with a smartphone game in the Diablo universe. Like the PC and console versions, Diablo Immortal is a multiplayer hack and slash game. The story is set in the twenty-year period between Diablo II and Diablo III.
Blizzard is making Diablo Immortal in collaboration with NetEase, a Chinese developer of games for smartphones. Players can choose from six classes: Barbarian, Monk, Wizard, Crusader, Demon Hunter and Necromancer.
The game is coming to Android and to iOS with versions for the iPhone and iPad. Blizzard calls the game a mmoarpg, or an action RPG that is played online with many players at the same time. Nothing is known about the revenue model of the game yet.
Interested parties can pre-register for the Android version in the Google Play Store and thus potentially have a chance to be invited for future alpha and beta versions. It is not yet known when Diablo Immortal will be released.
