Blizzard has announced BlizzCon 2023. The game developer and publisher’s event will take place on November 3 and 4. It will be the first physical BlizzCon since 2019 and will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, United States.

During the event, Blizzard usually announces new games and expansions, and development plans of the existing live service games are revealed. In terms of content, the company leaves in the accompanying blog post on the other hand, nothing has been released yet, although it is almost inevitable that announcements will be made about World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2, Diablo IV and Hearthstone, among others.

BlizzCon 2023 is the first physical event since 2019; a virtual event called BlizzConline was held only in 2021. In 2020 and 2021, the physical event was canceled due to the corona pandemic. Another online event was planned for 2022, but it was postponed indefinitely. The company has never specifically stated the reason for this, but the cancellation coincided with commotion about a negative culture within the company. There were various stories about an alleged ‘frat-boy culture’ and sexually transgressive behavior. Blizzard came under heavy fire for this.
