During BlizzConline, Blizzard announces that World of Warcraft Shadowlands will receive its first major content update dubbed Chains of Domination. In the update, Shadowlands will be expanded with new areas and new raid zones will be added.

During BlizzConline, Ion Hazzikostas, the Game Director on World of Warcraft, explained the first major content update for Shadowlands, the WoW expansion that hit the market in November 2020. Hazikostas makes it clear that players in Shadowlands do go to The Maw, but have never really got a foothold there until now. That’s going to change in Chains of Domination. The four Covenant, the factions introduced to Shadowlands, will join forces to face The Jailor and his troops.

In addition, in Chains of Domination, players can explore new areas. For example, at the end of the trailer released with the announcement, the floating zone Korthia can be seen, which is linked to The Maw by chains. In addition, players in Chains of Domination will be able to participate in new raids. The most important is Sanctum of Domination, a raid in which players compete against ten bosses. The last of those ten is Sylvanas Windrunner. In addition, there will be a new variant of the Operation: Mechagon dungeon, in which players will be presented with eight bosses.

In Chains of Domination, players can acquire many new and above all better pieces of equipment and the necessary new Flying Mounts and Battle Pets. It is unknown when Chains of Domination will be available.
