Blizzard cuts team mmog Titan
Blizzard is making major changes to the design and technology of the mmog known by the working title Titan. That’s why the studio has reduced the size of the development team. The game has not yet been officially announced.
Website VentureBeat managed to release a statement from Blizzard toddler about the status of Titan, although the studio spokesperson does not mention the working title of the game. According to Blizzard’s Shon Damron, “The studio has come to a point where it needs to make major changes to the game’s design and technology. We’re using the opportunity to have some collaborators assist with other projects while the core team uses our technology and tools.” adjusts.”
Damron responded to a message from VentureBeat that the team working on Titan has been reduced from 100 to 30 employees. According to the rumors that the website picked up, the team that remains would start developing the game from scratch. That is contradicted by Damron. He states that Blizzard has a very iterative development process for all games and that the steps it is taking now fit in with that. Damron further states that Blizzard has not yet officially announced the mmog and has therefore not released when the game will be released. According to the VentureBeat source, the game will be released in 2016 at the earliest.
In 2010, a document leaked out detailing Blizzard’s plans for the coming years. In it, the name Titan first appeared. According to that schedule, the game should be released by the end of 2013. However, due to Blizzard’s iterative process, the studio’s games rarely appear on their scheduled date. Blizzard can no longer use Titan as the official name for the game. Respawn Entertainment, the company of former Call of Duty developer Vince Zampella, has adopted the Titan brand name. Electronic Arts will release Respawn’s game.
