Blizzard bans thousands of Hearthstone accounts from using bots
Blizzard has blocked thousands of Hearthstone accounts because the owners are believed to be guilty of so-called ‘botting’. However, it is a temporary ban and the developer mainly seems to want to send a signal.
The lockdown will last until the end of the year, Blizzard said in a statement. It involves several thousand accounts associated with the use of automated gameplay. Programs then play the game instead of people and in this way in-game money and experience is illegally earned. As a result, players can get better game cards and a higher rank.
Blizzard once again makes it clear that cheaters are not tolerated, because the developer of the card game already issued a warning a few months ago. Blizzard now seems to have actually started its battle against botters. Although the current ban is only temporary, this will not apply to upcoming bans. Blizzard claims that from now on every cheater will be banned permanently without any warning.
