BlackBerry has started selling the DTEK60. The phone has a suggested retail price of 579 euros including VAT and comes with a leather case and a fast charger. The device is available immediately.

The phone runs on Android 6.0 with features added by BlackBerry, such as an app with which the user’s privacy can be kept and the ‘convenience key’, an extra key that calls up a menu in which the most used applications and tasks are shown.

Last month, the specifications of the DTEK60 were already leaked. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820-soc, 4GB ram and 32GB storage, which can be expanded with a micro SD card. It also has a 5.5″-1440p AMOLED screen, a 3000mAh battery and a 21-megapixel rear camera. The front camera has a wide-angle lens and a flash. The DTEK60 is equipped with dual speakers on the front, a USB 2.0 c port that supports Quick Charge 3.0, a 3.5mm jack, a fingerprint scanner and an nfc chip.

The device is not produced by BlackBerry itself, the company has recently stopped. The company outsources the development to Alcatel, so that the appearance largely resembles that of the Alcatel Idol 4s. At the time of writing, BlackBerry only sells the device on its own website. It is not yet available at online stores, but it will probably be soon.
