BlackBerry announces that the security company is acquiring Encription to offer a new service called ‘Professional Cybersecurity Services’. The BlackBerry Enterprise Service 12 management platform also works from Microsoft Azure.

BlackBerry says that the new service will provide security solutions and help customers identify digital threats. The Professional Cybersecurity Services service covers ‘strategic and technical security’ from mobility management to cloud services, as well as automotive technology and internet of things security. In order to offer the service, BlackBerry has acquired the British company Encription Limited. Financial details of this deal have not been disclosed. It is also not yet known how BlackBerry will offer its new security service.

BlackBerry also announced that users of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform will now have access to the company’s enterprise solutions. As a result, BES12 licenses can now be managed from the Azure cloud, without companies having to build their own infrastructure.
