BitFenix has introduced its latest fan controller, the Recon 2. The controller came just too late to be shown at the Computex at the beginning of this month, but the manufacturer has now finished its fan controller equipped with a touchscreen.

The Recon 2 is an upgrade of the first Recon fan controller and the main improvement is a higher power per channel. Where the original Recon still offered a five-channel controller with ‘only’ ten watts per channel, the Recon 2 has no less than thirty watts per channel. As with its predecessor, five channels are available, but from now on not only fans, but also LED strips and other lighting can be controlled.

This operation is via a touchscreen, which is 4.7″ in size, so that it just fits in a 5.25″ drive bay. In addition, the fan controller can be operated via a smartphone or tablet; where the previous Recon still used a web interface, apps are being developed for the Recon 2. BitFenix Benelux announces that the Recon 2 will be available in the course of the fourth quarter, but a price is still unknown. However, it would differ little from the price for the current Recon.
