BioWare has been working on an all-new game for five years that will be released next year

BioWare is coming with an all-new game in the action-adventure genre for April 2018. The studio has been working on the game for five years, set in a universe where players are brought together “in a unique way.”

In 2012, BioWare began developing a “new universe with new characters, stories and gameplay,” reports Aaryn Flynn, vice president of the studio. The goal was to create a game that users can play together ‘in new ways’.

During the discussion of the quarterly figures, the CEO of publisher EA lets go that it is not so much an RPG, but more an action-adventure game, in which several genres come together. “You’re thinking about the character development of an RPG and the flow of a story that BioWare has become famous for, but in a world with more action and adventure,” said Chris Evenden, vice president of EA.

The game should be released at the end of EA’s fiscal quarter, which ends on March 31, 2018. More details have not yet been disclosed by BioWare and EA, but they promise to reveal more about the game as the year progresses. The announcement comes as BioWare Mass Effect: Andromeda is wrapping up. The game will be released in Europe on March 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows.
