BioWare cancels beta for multiplayer Mass Effect: Andromeda
Contrary to what the studio previously communicated, BioWare will not be holding a public multiplayer technical test of Mass Effect: Andromeda. According to the company, the deletion is the right decision now that the game is coming out shortly.
Players can try Mass Effect: Andromeda multiplayer at the PAX East event, but there will be no more beta for gamers at home, BioWare reports on its blog. On Twitter, producer Fernando Melo gives some explanation about the decision.
According to him, it is a long story, but the decision is justified, given the short time frame in which the game appears. “Mass Effect: Andromeda multiplayer has had the most extensive user testing we’ve ever done,” he adds. He also points out that an alpha test was held earlier this year.
He still showed the multiplayer character selection screen and promised to announce more in the near future. Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released in Europe on March 23.
